Torture - The Jacksons (1984)

"Torture" was the second single released off the 1984 album "Victory" by The Jacksons. Written by Jackie Jackson and fellow Motown veteran Kathy Wakefield, the song was about someone ending a relationship, and the torture that a person can receive while trying to end it. Jackie was originally going to sing the song with his brother Michael, but Jackie's role instead went to Jermaine Jackson, whose availability for the album was in question until the last minute. The rest of the Jacksons sang the chorus along with Michael and Jermaine. The song peaked at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This channel is dedicated to all the great 'old school' R&B music I grew up with, the stuff that originally made me tap my feet and want to be a DJ. The Jackson 5 totally rocked this song! Yeah! I remember being on vacation and traveling for hours on end in the car and this song playing on my Walkman and I just got lost in the magic of this song! It was the first time I had heard it and man alive, it was just so amazing! :-) I sure love the 80's sooo much! So many fun times and crazy times too that gave me the best memories. I skated my heart out to this song too at the rink. What times those were. They live in my heart always. I miss it!
