Well, I don't know anything about how the YR Alumni Corps operates, but when I marched with the Yankee Rebels in 1975 and 1976 (in the mellophone section), black people were definitely not welcome. Neither were women. So, sadly, YR was definitely racist and sexist during their "glory years." And if you were affliated with the corps during the '60's and '70's you know very well that's the truth.

As a member of the Yankee Rebels Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, I take exception to the comments made by "lothy59". Our Corps is open to ANYONE who desires to enjoy the "old style" drum and bugle corps activity. Members of all races, religions and ethnic backgrounds perform with us, and all who are interested are welcome to join our ranks.
