I only need my one dog for a scooter, so no, two dogs is plenty. It is a ton less friction than a sled, and you typically only go but so far. The general rule is that one sled-dog can pull 100 lbs. over their own bodyweight, for a good distance. When sledding, teams come into play however due to the increased friction of snow, sled rails, weight, and the necessity for long distance travel at a steady pace. Scooters are usually for training, although in warmer climates they do race with them.

Gutsy! my dogs were killing me on the dog scooter- even two of them. (I had a really cheap one though)
