So glad I left this and ALL churches long ago. Bonasso was pastor while I was there. From he and others I learned never to trust preachers again. While my wife and I lived in a bad L.A. ghetto, my tithes supported phil's "upscale" life in his rental house over- looking the Pacific ocean in Palos Verdes Estates. Churches are a joke, and this one leads the pack. Never again will I partake in organized religion.
Jim Lafoon, I am sorry you are so misguided, I sincerely care that you are way off track. ' I bullieve ' you need to exit the arena of this production and seek health and repantance. This ministry disgusts me to the core.
This church is a cult. EN Churches and their leadership are power hungry people, who are more obsessed with 'power and control' than they are serving others and serving Christ. If you are in any one of these EN churches or are being mentored by one of their leaders, please seek counseling and outside spiritual help. God gently leads us by still waters Pslam 23. He does not use manipulation and control tactics to get our complience.
I left that church after this event and my inability to reconcile their teachings with the Scripture. To address the last post before me, a set of vhs on the "school of prophecy" is both sad and silly. Prophecy is not something one learns, but is commanded of an individual by God and not necessarily during the full span of a lifetime and can be as little as one time, if it ever happens. There is not much need for prophecy these days.
I used to see Jim Laffoon preach periodically at the Life Christian Center in Fenton, MO. I don't recall having any problem with him until I went to a "prophecy meeting," one Sunday evening. As I sat there in the pew, I watched as Jim stood on the stage, called a congregant to him, and asked everyone to speak in tongues before he started with that individual. While I cannot speak for now, he misrepresented the gifts of the Spirit, which is a grave mistake.
Oh no, Jim! Really? Run nations with religion? Don't forget all the holy wars you'll have to wage before you take over. Theocracy is and always has been an evil idea. I love you, Jim but you're way out there.
Its so funny to hear this message. Reflecting back on that conference, I remember how sucked in I was. To reach and rule. How funny How prideful. The idea hear is that they "the leadership" will reach and the younger generation will rule. I just want to be a good man and love people. I don't need to be a ruler.
