    America didn't "steal" the name "football". When the sport was invented, the only way to move the ball was by running it with your feet. Hence the name. America isn't the only place that uses the term football for a sport that isn't association football. Does Canada not have their own version of "football"? What about Australia? It doesn't hurt to spend a minute on Google
