@cartergirl3of3 I got it from a Ph.D.; but when asked to justify the statement, she backed up into semantic games: "Oh, Black people *could* be racist, where they are the majority. You can't be racist where you aren't the majority." Like I said, bullshit. In fact, I once heard a black kid say "All Chinks look alike." If that isn't racism, I don't know what is. Higher degrees doesn't always mean being right. Still a great song, though.

@kurtjk01 No, in fact, I don't buy it. I thought is was a stupid notion. But she has a Master's so...
-
@cartergirl3of3 Yeah, I heard that bullshit too. Do you really buy that?

Before everyone goes Civil War on each other, while the stories were collected and written down in the 1840's the film takes place during the Reconstruction Era of the South in the late 1860's early 1870's. Years after the war was fought.

@cartergirl3of3 Its on YouTube in 10 sections. Or you can wait till it comes out agin in a few years. Disney brings it out of the "vault" every few years like they do some of their old on (ie. Lady and the Tramp released recently).

Blacks fought for the south because they had been brain washed by propaganda that life in the north would be even worse for them. They always portrayed the slaves as being carefree happy and lazy.
-
@cartergirl3of3 Well, the reason why people hate the film is because it doesn't show Southerners to be racist, and doesn't have enough slaves being beaten, basically.

@RebelSoldat1 haven't seen the film so i don't know what you're getting at
That 1 person who disliked this song should rot in hell. ~_~
