  • She also said "you gotta let me sung this one" ... she was not referring to every song she's ever written. I have been to MANY Ani concerts and people sing along with plenty of songs ... without being scolded. Her newest song "Which Side Are You On" is a sing-a-long for sure.

  • @francisdenw I'm also not done ranting. I've been to a show where she stopped to say when mamma can't hear herself play, she has to strain, and it fucks with her physically. Ani works her ass of to get your dismal amount of money. Shut up.

  • @francisdenw Youuu, honey are so full of shit. Ani does not ask for you to come to her shows and sing. Just because she writes folk music and engages with her audience, doesn't mean it's a pow wow. do you come to enjoy the talent or come to hear yourself be fucking disrespectful during a less than cheerful song.

  • @lovenotegestapo you're being way too nice.

  • fuck, i needed to hear this right now.

  • A paying concert goer is paying to hear the headliner, not the person sitting next to you. If she can hear you from the STAGE then imagine what it must sound like to someone trying to listen from the audience.

  • @francisdenw My reaction to what you and some others are writing is that when I pay a lot of money to see and hear an artist play I really want to hear them and the subtle nuances that they put into that performance and it is more of a courtesy to others in the audience. As a musician who sings from the heart I do agree with her. I do not think it is necesaarily about ego. I just wanted to state a different angle of the situation.

  • And I dont think I'm done ranting yet....when you profit from our love and appreciation for your music, I feel its not within your right to dictate who also sings it aloud. Damn. OK, I think I'm done repeating myself.

  • I disagree to her reaction in this video. Whether you like it or not Ani, you are a folksinger and you tell stories. I love your stories, I get excited about hearing them, excited about singing them, excited about hearing them sang in public. When I yell...whoop...sing aloud with you its my way of sharing my love for you and your songs/stories. If thats truely still an issue for you I'll be glad to stop buying tickets to attend your shows and sing aloud...instead I'll downlowd and sing at home.

  • first song i ever heard from her <3
