it took well over 24 hours to recover... but it was worth it because yrs later I'm still much better.

I was in the hospital for 1 month solid on blood thinners to treat blood clots caused by years of taking birth control pills to control the heavy not stop bleeding that I had had for years that made me dangerously anemic. while already in the hospital they gave me his surgery. it was not outpatient it was not painless. I was literally put into a drug induced coma because of the pain. I felt like a disembodied prescence... a sphere of energy that was just throbbing with pain.. Sheer agony...

@cbjune1 Yeah, unfortunately I got my period back in August. However, it only lasted 5 days and the bleeding was nothing compared to what I had before. My sister was over thirty when she had hers procedure done. I'm only 29. The doctor told me that due to my age it may come back. I must say that since it was regular and relatively light, it's nothing that I can't live with.

I got an ablasion on 7-19-10. I was admitted to the hospital two hours before to prepare for the procedure. It was done on an outpatient basis. I don't know what the hell they're talking about with local anesthetic because my doctor put me under general. My doctor, her assistant and the anesthesiologist all came and spoke with me before hand. The pain afterwards is what you would expect with moderate menstral cramps. So far so good! It's been 5 yrs since my sister had hers with 0 periods!

I have an 18 weeks - size uterus due to adenomyosis. I have been offered a laproscopic hysterctomy. One week before it is due i have been told they want to take the Cervix out too!!! My cervix is not malignant or cancerous. I suddenly have cold feet. i am scared to go ahead.
