Sigmund Freud "figured out" the workings of the human mind but he couldn't get his head around the Irish! Also, recently in the film The Departed Matt Damon's character said, "I don't know, being Irish, maybe it's that we are to complex to analyze?"
Mary is a typical Irish woman's name but Mary is not from first glance nor second, a typical Irish woman. Mary grew up in 1960's rural Ireland as the only black person she knew. Forty years later you would think people have accepted her and in many ways they have. The ballot, however, tells another story as the majority of her friends and the rest of the country reveal the truth behind their so called acceptance.
