So, I'm tuning around on 10 meters this afternoon because it's been ROCKIN all weekend, and I come across this chick talking in Spanish. Certainly nothing unusual, but the way she was talking sounded like a broadcaster rather than a conversation (and I don't understand Spanish). The freq. was 29,130khz, certainly not far off the usual hams running old AM mode equipment, but on a hunch, I got out my pen and divided that freq. by 3 on a sheet of paper (uh huh, long division by hand) ... sure enough ... 9710khz.
I spun down there and PRESTO. Radio Havana Cuba.
This is a new one for me! 9710khz x 3 = 29,130khz. Probably not much power radiated on 10 m, but it made the path! I've also heard Radio Argentina Exterior up around 30mhz (2 x 15) so keep your ears open out there!
