The great Ducati 748 exhaust experiment

Ever wondered what a Ducati sounds like with different exhausts? Probably not, but just in case you're curious, I've put together a quick demo.

This video shows a standard Ducati 748 Biposto with the standard, road legal exhaust, then a carbon Termignoni race exhaust, then with no exhaust at all. The microphone does it's best to capture the sound of the last one but I think you get the idea how loud it is.

Incidentally, the high-pitched clattering sound is the dry clutch and is part of what makes a Ducati sound so crazy.

I think it's because titanium can look a bit like the standard cans. And schoolboys can easily spot carbon, so it's always better to go that direction imo.

Wow with no pipes it sound like cougar, too bad you cannot run it like that for long, Least I think not, My education is on cars if you run them ong with open headers you will suck cold air into the engine and warp the valves, is that the same on the bikes?

It is amazing how loud an engine sounds without the exhaust. I was driving a 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa and a piece of metal bounce up under the car and sheered the exhaust.

All of a sudden it sounded like I was driving a WW2 Spitfire.
