After many tries and failures I finally got to this group of miraculous config lines that make some changes in the CVARS giving the game a Very High look. You only loose about 1 or 2 frames overall but you get a Medium / High perfomance (guaranteed).

Here's a more detailed explanation over the codes:

con_restricted 0 ; Disables restricting of console.

e_terrain_ao 0 ; Deactivate deferred terrain ambient occlusion.

e_shadows 1 ; Activates drawing of shadows.

e_shadows_max_texture_size 512 ; Set maximum resolution of shadow map (512 medium).

r_usepom 1 ; Enables Parallax Occlusion Mapping (a type of relief map that gives raised appearence to textures).

r_ShadowJittering 1 ; Activate shadow map jittering.

r_HDRRendering=3 ; Toggles HDR rendering.

q_Renderer 3 ; Defines the quality of renderer.

r_colorgrading 1 ; Enables color grading.

r_sunshafts 1 ; Enables sun-shafts.

r_SSAO_amount=0.6 ; Controls how much SSAO (Screen-Space Ambiente Occlusion) affects ambient. A method to provide realistic looking global lighting effects on textures in the world.

r_SSAO_darkening=0.9 ; Controls how much SSAO affects ambient.

Here's a download link for the autoexec.cfg (paste it in your Crysis folder C:/Programs/Electronic Arts/Crytek/Crysis):

  • My config is more complex than this.. I got it running at 60fps on a GTS 450 and a core2 Duo in 1920x1080. With some more tweaking, I got it looking better than Very High but keeping the fps on around 55-80 on a single 5850. And about 65-150 on 2 5850's.

It has pretty much all the effects of Very High + more but I used some of the techniques used by console game devs to get great graphics running on shit hardware.

  • @Nintendoguy5794 lol don't forget i'm using a gt220 xD

  • @mastergamer987KA100 Lol true... But I reckon I could get it running pretty good!

  • @Nintendoguy5794 Is the config you're talking about the same you send me some time ago? I'm really desperate to get it running really smoothing >.< I'm still saving some money to buy a XFX 6970. Yeah It's a big upgrade but maybe by the christmas I should already have it lol

  • @mastergamer987KA100 If I get time, I'll do some work on my config to give it some more optimization.. GT 220's aren't made for gaming, so it will be tough to get it lookin good but I'll have a go tonight maybe. Then I'll send it to you and see how it goes.

  • @Nintendoguy5794 k thanks so much
