This video features a selection of photos from the Jan Oberg Photographic Presentation:
'Iraqi faces and surfaces 2002 - 2003'
"With these pictures... I want you to get a sense of the simple fact that Iraq is not only Saddam Hussein, weapons and wars. Iraq is 24 million fellow human beings. It has been a civilisation for some 7,000 years. It has a distinct, rich culture; it has norms, and - above all - it has pride !"
Jan Oberg

As you view this video... ask yourself whether there was anything you saw, that would suggest Iraq was a country that needed to be 'Invaded' ?
Yes... 'Life' in Iraq was far from 'ideal'... But how is it 'in your country' ?
Are there not 'criminals' living within your country ?... 'Crimes' committed ?... People living in 'poverty' or facing other hardships ?... Does your country have an Army ?... Possess 'weapons' ?... Could it perhaps be perceived as being 'a threat to other Nations' ?
All countries of the world have their share of problems... and there are people all around the world, who need 'help' !
Some countries need 'help' far more than others... and Iraq is certainly not an exception !!!
The 'Invasion of Iraq' was supposedly going to bring 'peace and democracy' to the People of Iraq... It was going to 'free them' of the hardships they had been forced to endure under Saddam Hussein's Regime. 'Hardships' which for decades were contributed to by many countries (who for their own selfish reasons) threw their support behind Saddam Hussein !
'Hardships' which had been made far worse by 'Sanctions' imposed by the very countries who now promise the Iraqi People... their 'freedom' !
A 'freedom' paid for 'in blood' !!!
'Life' in Iraq was far from 'ideal'...
But one thing the Iraqi People did have, was 'pride' !
So much of that 'pride' has been taken away from them by so-called 'freedom fighters' whose only method of approach is through the point of a gun !!!
What we (the International Community) have allowed to happen to the Iraqi People is 'equalled in shame' only by what we allow to continue to happen to the People of Darfur !!!
