McQueen drove 4 hours. That's plenty of time for a gentleman driver to ruin a race if he isn't quick. Revson did a great job, but I have loads of respect for McQueen racing anything he could get his hands on from dirtbikes to sports prototypes and doing it reasonably well.

@jemimakahn Don't forget Revson drove most of the race ! Still pretty cool effort though.

Thanks a mill for uploading this. How cool was this man! A leg broken in 6 places, taking on Mario Andretti in a Ferrari no less, and he comes in 2nd in an underpowered car! No wonder they write songs about him.

Why isnt Mcqueen in Cars a porsche 908?

@GundamZero702 McQueen and Revson drove the #48 Porsche 908. Andretti led for 10 hours in his #19 Ferrari 512 until the transmission crapped out on him. He was then allowed to drive the third-place #21 Ferrari 512 to catch up to the McQueen/Revson 908 that had taken the lead after the Gulf 917 had to pit with front wheel bearing problems. Andretti caught up to the Porsche and beat it by 23.8 seconds to win the race. It was the closest finish at Sebring up to that time.

LOVE IT. A shame todays racing isn't more like this and not the cookie cutter cars they have today.

@Roy111644 I agree. No wonder that so many people go to vintage events here in the states and especially at Goodwood in England and the Le Mans Classic. Those beautiful old cars are a pleasure to see on the track.
