  • You can get an ordinary incandescent bulb to glow also. Just submerge the metal end in a cup of water and wait about 10 seconds.

  • Andrew - This was my video response to SallySurfer's Microwave Video (Sept. 2006). The microwaves cause the gas in the light tube to ionize and Glow. The water in the cup absorbs the extra energy & helps protect the microwave oven.

    15 - 20 seconds runtime should be ok but it will still heat up quickly.
