@adolfsputnik I disagree with you. It's not the past 30 years, its since WW2. Muskegon pretty much helped the war effort as much or more than any other town with 5 times this population, and because of the mis-management and incompetence at City hall, you have what you have now. A big open space where a city should be.

I'm a third generation of the same name from the same house that my grandfather built, I've pissed on every tree & slept in every ditch, this town is mine & I dont know why the world dont end at the county line,I sure wish it did, because DIRT tastes the same all over metaphorically I mean, when things are the same its me you can blame , Its why Im here!I LOVE THIS TOWN!!!!! "the more think it will change,the more it stays the same, + just another year!"

I know, I was born there in 1980 then my parents moved me to Grand Rapids in 1982 for a better place to raise me.
It seems that Muskegon doesnt even belong in Michigan, it kinda belongs to Arkansas/ Alabama towns. People are just too country there, half of them haven't even been to Grand Rapids LOL.

The mall WAS a good idea, but the losers who run the town didn't update it w/theaters and restaurants. Keeping with their backasswards ways, "Let's tear it down!" No mall, open shops, winter winds...much better to have it wide open..if you're in CALIFORNIA! The incompetent boobs decided to let the new ferry dock MILES from downtown, across from the mayor's bar. The people need to wake up and boot all of them out! And, while your at it, drop your subscription to the joke paper, the Chronicle.

For the past 30 years, this town has been run (and totally destroyed) by a handful of ignorant and arrogant jerks. The people need to run them out of town! Just LOOK at it! Muskegon has the highest number of suicides in the nation!!!
