You have such a bright future ahead of you! Sorry I had such a terrible ending; I was running out of time. Good luck with everything, and keep us posted!

  • Hey what is community college? In England we finish school at 16 if you go out to work or something after gcse's, or 18 if you stay to do a levels. If you want you can leave at 16 and go studying a levels at college is that similar to community college? Although i thought that you went to community college when you were 18?

  • Just curious as to what it is, and why you wouldn't just go straight to university at 18? Wouldn't it mean you graduate really late, and then if you want to do post grad or masters you end up graduating it all in your late twenties? :s

  • Bachelor's Degrees are designed for four years, and a lot of students take five years to complete it. So, yes, we're old when we graduate. I'm a perfect example. I started out as a film major, so two years of classes were wasted. Now I'm getting an engineering degree in five years, so I'll be in undergrad for seven years total. I'll be 25 when I graduate.

  • Community college is still for graduated high school students who are 18. Or if they haven't graduated from high school they can get a different diploma called a GED from the community college. They are smaller and less expensive. They offer basic "core" classes that every student, no matter what they're studying, needs to take, and they usually only offer a 2 year degree instead of the more common 4 year degree.

Then the student can go on to earn their doctoral degree to become a PhD, such as a Psychologist. A "major" is something we are supposed to declare as the field or type of work we decide we want to go into as our career such as a teacher, nurse, doctor, accounting, or business as well as many other career options. I hope this helps and wasnt to boring.

Students can opt to go to a University or Private College for 4-5 years depending on the availability of classes and once finished they will earn what we call a Bachelors Degree in the field of study we choose as our career such as becoming a nurse. If the student decides they want to take their career to a higher level such as becoming a teacher or going to medical school, when they graduate they will have earned a Masters Degree (another 2 yrs)

In the US the educational system usually starts at age 5 and school is called Elementary (grades Kindergarten-6th grade) kids graduate at 11-12 yrs old. Then go to Junior High School 12-13, 14 yrs (grades 7-8) or in some states it's called Middle School same ages (grades 6,7 & 8), The next level is High School ages 14-18 yrs (grades 9-12).

After graduation students can go to a Community College for 2 years and earn an Associates Degree

  • You haven't been posting in a long time. ;(

About this video, I just graduated hs and I'm going to a communitiy college, I'm scared shitless (for lack of a better word). I don't like the idea that I'll be paying to do something I'm not even sure that I want. I'm so uncertain about school. Terrifying. Have you got any inspirational words. You're so wise.
