  • Too young to develop osteoporosis? Within one year of developing anorexia I had osteoporosis at age 15.

It's irreversible. My spine and hips are bad, after being recovered for 5 years.

  • i thought it can be reversed, but not cured..?

  • I was just curious if you want to get better? It may be a stupid question and all, but I was just wondering.

  • i do and don't. i'm lost. i don't know what to do. logically i know what i NEED to do..but..i'm just..stuck.

  • "Grow up, snap out of it, stip whining." Ugh! People who say those things have no idea what it is to be traumatized. That's the conclusion I've had to come to to not let that shit get to me. *hugs* You can email me you messengers if you ever want to chat.

  • I think the hardest part of this (I mean my THIS) is that you don't see a future.... a dream.... or any hope.

It's a totally irrational thought process, but it's still there.

With out a hope or a dream the will to live dies. One may not be suicidal to lose the will to live. I'm there...and it's horrendous.

    Keep fighting Ash.

  • I sure to understand the feeling of being lost and being ambivalent about recovery; wanting it one minute and the next minute not wanting it. Hang in there. You are not alone.

  • Calcium and vitamin D help, but you need a certain body weight to produce enough estrogen to be able to stop the process, and hopefully help. Please take care of yourself, I always watch your vids and relate a lot. If you want to talk just let me know. I've been in that place many times. I hope I dont come across as harsh, i just wanted to get the facts out in as little words as possible.

  • So, with medication and excersice, it is possible to regain some, just some, of the lost bone mass. However, after a certain age it may only be possible to maintain the current level of bone mass.

  • It can only be reversed slightly before a certain age. By the age of twenty to twenty-five, our bodies lose the ability to gain bone mass. It maintains until age thirty, and then it slowly decreases after that.

  • I'm sorry but you have to start taking care of yourself and eating...I have been watching your vids for a long time and you are really starting to look sick in the face...you are way to thin. You feel this way because you are not eating why dont you see that?

  • No one with anorexia is too young for osteoporosis!

  • I know it's really scary but I have osteopenia from anorexia and I was told that you need to ingest dietary fat in order to absorb the calcium into your bones in addition to the vitamin D. It may be terrifying, but try to have at least a few grams, if only when you take your supplement.

  • i agree...you need a support system to get through the rough times..im feeling a bit like you too..it happens with doctor visits, i had mine today as well, geez.
