  • Thanks Design2point0. We are just happy to have clients that are brave enough to play in this space. Thank you for your kind words.

  • TAXICanada,

    Your analogy is FLAWED.

Come on now....this had NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING HANDS FREE.

It had everything to do with pushing the GAS instead of the BRAKE. Steering played no part.

A hands free device is a good idea, but it obviously had no application here.

    Come on!!

  • DJRckwl, thanks for your comment...we appreciate all view points. If a person was using handsfree they might pay more attention to driving which is a good thing. We do not know if a cell phone was used or not in this instance...but merely drawing attention to that in other cases thinking safety first and not being distracted makes good sense. I think we can all agree on that :)

  • Gotta love corporations trying to profit off everything. Thumbs down!

  • Wow im more shocked at how well the performance of the bmw was. A true suv. BMW FTW!

  • I bet that Bloke's insurance premiums would go up, when she ran over that car!

I wonder who's at fault for that?

  • @vantage789

IDK. Ask the girl who hit me while crossing two lanes and a curb while talking on the phone. Apparently a curb wasn't even enough to 'wake' her up.

Though I agree this wasn't a phone issue. IMO it's an accelerator/driver issue

That not withstanding. Isn't this just an ad for a tire company that used security cam footage to sell bluetooth? I saw a follow up to this where the Hyundai owner got a car one from Hyundai because of this accident.

  • nice try, but I think you failed...

  • This particular case was probably due to stepping on the gas rather than the brakes, and not cell phone use. While talking on a phone may not make you oblivious to your surroundings it definitely divides attention, and distraction is the number one cause of car accidents. Hands free makes little difference

  • same thing can happen when yelling at your kids in the back seat, do you want a law against that? (there is one in some US states). I treat talking on the phone the same way I treat talking to my passengers, the moment i'm in a situation where there I need to be constantly attentive, I will stop talking and listening. But why can't you talk to people when there is no cars around for a quarter mile?

  • Yea.. because talking on my cell phone causes me to become completely blind and oblivious to all of my surroundings. How do we know that the person in this video was even talking on a cell phone? Just another form of taxation from our awesome Ontario gov't. If they are truly concerned about road safety how about modernizing and improving our pathetic driver education program. Unqualified and inexperienced drivers are the problem, not cell phones.

  • This new Ontario law is a good thing, but it dosen't go far enough! We were involved in an accident last month where after the investigation, it was found that the woman was talking to somone on her phone using 'hands free device! She was concentrating on who or what she was talking about and not her driving!

  • It is Thornhill I think. I used to go to the Extreme Fitness by Leaside...funny thing both parking lots look exactly the same. lol
