You can also look at this as the quantum level and when you hear the boy's words, it becomes amazingly clear how you're able to do this. Literally, there is NO spoon and at the quantum level, the spoon only conciously exist because you're aware of it. Being that a wave only responds as matter when being percieved, the spoon would consequently comform to your will. It's the most fundamental line in this movie.
I understand. The measurement problem tells us different though, even though on a wider aspect I can agree with you. I like to think of it as not observing, but knowing. What you know is, simple as that. It's easier to think this way if you count all conciousness as one. That's just me though.
The metaphor isn't just that TV is being used for mind control. It's actually a Buddhist metaphor. Buddhism explains that all objects and beings are unborn; they all depend on other causes and conditions to exist. That's why "there is no spoon." If you want to "bend the spoon," as in, change the way you see the spoon, it is only your mind that can do it. It is the only thing that can do it.
u ppl dont get the metaphor.....IT SHOWS U HOW TV IS USED FOR MIND CONTROL Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh WATCH THE ARRIVALS SERIES AND YOU WILL KNOW WAT IM TALKIN ABOUT
