@mciumeica Also , whenever Smith says " die " , Hugo`s Aussie accent slips through . And , ofcourse his final rant in " Revolutions " is full of slips . So basically the angrier Smith gets , the more Aussie he sounds which is ironic as Aussies , especially Sydneysiders like Hugo , have a reputation for generally being amongst the most laid-back , friendly people in the world !

@mciumeica Though Hugo does a pretty good monotone General American Accent as Agent Smith , there are noticeable slip-ups in Smith`s more emotional moments . When he`s ranting to Morpheus and Neo , it`s particularly noticeable ! When he says " It`s the smell if there is such a thing " ,there are subtle traces of Aussie inflection on the words " smell " and " thing " . Likewise when he says " I must get out of here , I must get free " , it can be heard in the words " here " & " free "

@mciumeica Um , the kid`s actually an Aussie ! As are Hugo Weaving ( Agent Smith ) and Belinda McClory ( Switch ) ! The Film was shot in Sydney despite being set in an unnamed American metropolitan city , if you look close , in one scene you can see The Harbour Bridge !

I read that Uri Gella, who was later to be proven a fraud, went on TV and performed his spoon bending trick. The TV station's switchboard was immediatly jamed with callers saying that after seeing him do it, their young children had been able to actually bend a spoon with their mind. The way I see it is that no one had ever told them that they could or could not bend a spoon with their mind and after seeing someone else do it, they thought that they could do it too and they did.
