  • Cool. It's kind of like the big boy version of those plastic paratroopers you bought as a kid. Though this one is much more expensive and actually worked rather than plummeting painfully to the ground.

  • my thoughts exactly. It's better to work out the bugs now then rush the project and kill both people and the program, at the same time.

    I think this was a planned opening. The worst thig that can happen with any chute is an over fast opening .... it can rip away from the load it is carrying or rip apart.

  • @tpsossff If i am not wrong, it could be due to the amount of air available in our atmosphere. Thin air at high altitude, hence canopy is not openned wide enough. If what i say is true, then they would have to seriously consider the atmospheric conditions of the actual landing sites.

  • Did you see how that canopy opened in three distinct stages. How did they manage that?
