  • @deviantbreed professional NFL are trained to be bigger faster stronger, as are rugby players but they must sacrifice size for endurance. for that reason your 400bench pressing guy will be useless in rugby. but if you were any good at rugby you would know it doesnt matter how big or strong a guy is without his ankles. Makes me wonder why you would be scared of a big guy if you played rugby. p.s its about skill timing and heart. just cos hes big doesnt mean he cant be knocked out by a squint

  • This really reminded me of my public school experience... 12 years of playing that bloody game, it's brutal. I myself was in the D team, the highest being A. The D team was for the people who had something mentally or physically wrong with them. Ie. Nerds.

We all begged for cricket season to come quicker, at least you could get the bat in your hands and give those balls a good walloping.

  • Its not that hard to play rugby if your really small. Just workout your shoulders and make them big. Go low and aggresive in a tackle. Drive your shoulder into their stomach and push up. Haha

  • @irimanan27: Great point. Shane Williams and Will Genia case in points

  • @jazzx251: I think not, as this jest is clearly aimed at the mistreatment of the youngsters in this upper class educational institutions; and all gladiator games depend on having equal opponents in order to make the games exciting; but here we see a grotesque farce, though only the Pythons themselves could declare what their jests satirises.

The best kickers in rugby can be good on special teams. (Gavin Hastings formerly of Scotland springs to mind)

Wrong about the music I'm afraid.

They are clearly referencing the 70s film "Rollerball" whose main theme is this piece.

Rollerball is set in the future when it is the most popular and most brutal sport, used by the corporate elite to keep the masses entertained. The movie features some well-staged games where we are treated to numerous moments of carnage and death in the arena - to which this scene bears some similarities.

  • I love rguby and i love Mothy Python <3

  • If this is what they teach you at public school, I'm glad I went comprehensive.
