  • Why are you squished? Depriving Camera Guy of his daily beer ration?

  • I don't know. YouTube must have changed the rules on us somewhere. The video we uploaded for this one is no different from our others. I had to click the fullscreen button and then escape out of it to fix it.

  • One mans trash is another mans treasure,

    it's pl'aztec gold!

  • No. Deliberately overstating the REAL facts, mislabeling and misleading people about the problem distracts from the message. And BTW your "Milk analogy" is horrible because he didn't say there is no plastic and no gyre, he just said its not a island like some people try to portray it. If its not a visible island calling it one is blatantly deceiving and presenting the facts inaccurately does not help any cause in the long run.

  • They do the same thing with so many aspects of environmentalism these days. I left that movement simply because now it's almost all lies and exaggerations simply to scare people, and I don't like fearmongering, that's also the same reason I left the christian religion ... coincidence?

  • @whatyououghttoknow

you should talk to Murdoc Nichols about this he may have a different opinion

  • 2:47 Ha! :D

  • @trifarce101 Gorillaz?

  • Welcome to the world of plastic beach.

  • It's Captain Barbossa giving us a lesson on pollution

  • @incalite thanks for the well-thought-out reply. I agree. I perhaps became over-the-top.

  • @mgwager I don't mean to downplay the tragedies currently in effect in Africa, some of which actually being involved with Mitsubishi and other global fishing companies out-fishing local communities, but be careful with what things you make top priorities; ignoring the full magnitude of each subject could very well lead one to making the wrong decisions.

  • @mgwager 80% of photosynthesis (i.e. tree sucks in CO2 and sunlight, produces glucose and oxygen) occurs in our oceans. Having our garbage slip into gyres, as well as vast overfishing on the part of companies like Mitsubishi, are putting life on Earth at risk in the most literal sense. Photodegraded plastics, loose nets, and overfishing endanger oceanlife populations worldwide. Kill the fish and you could kill our zoo- and phytoplankton. Kill them, and you kill 80% of oxygen production on Earth.

  • I'm all for cleaning up our messes, but caring more about whales than people is a MUCH bigger problem than a so-called "trash island" will ever be. Loosen up pseudo-hippies, and make the starving children in Africa a higher priority.
