In This tutorial, I demonstrate how to replace the top on the popular Laing DDC / Swiftech MCP355 pump. For demonstrating, I use a DDC X-Top by EK Waterblocks, but any aftermarket top can be installed in the same way. This includes reservoir tops.

  • Thank you for making the video, i am looking to upgrade to water cooling but has no diea if the pump and resivoir would fit or how they would fit

  • As long as it's a reservoir specifically made for the Laing DDC (there are a few available), it will install on the pump exactly like the top in the video. :)

  • Yes, it does. In my experience though, some vendors will still replace a pump, as long as they see that you did nothing wrong when replacing the top. I never worry about this mod, it's very safe and very common. ;)

  • will a aftermarket top make the pomp more silence ?

  • I always get confused. Is the top hole is the inlet and the hole to the side the outlet (pushing liquid out)?

I want to place this pump at the bottom of me case so it would push liquid up towards my GPU. I already have one pump in my reservoir but I will need one more since normaly you would have liquid going to the CPU > GPU and then back to the res/pump... but I have decided to go from Res> GPU> CPU and then back to res/pump... More for looks I suppose

  • good vid thanks

  • found another good video regarding water cooling, thanks guys. i've subscribed, keep up the great work.

  • simple explanation that helps me feel confident in purchasing a new top

  • thanks you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much

  • quality video!! :)

  • there is no warranty-seal so if you re-attach the original top the vendor might not be able to make out any difference.
