No wonder they don't like him and the media censors him, as his honesty and common sense make them all seem so small minded and foolish. Nixon was in no way stupid- he actually was amazingly gifted in politics. However, he was without a doubt in a lot of pockets and paranoid to the point which affected his judgement. When it comes to Romney- he is no Nixon, but I do have some serious concerns about him as a MA resident. The "Big Dig" in Boston has been an embarrassment- smeared with corruption and ineptitude. If he can't oversee that project, he can't run the country. That is one of many examples of his inadequacy.

I can't help but feel that the audience applause after every answer is detrimental to the debate process. The candidates should articulate their beliefs without response from the public- this would foster more honest answers to some very important questions because they would have to stand solely on the debate format and not external influence. Lacan put it well- the unconscious is not an internal entity, it resides in all that which the perceived individual is immersed in.
