My cover of Blackout by Muse

This is my cover of Blackout by Muse. This is only the 2nd cover I've ever recorded and uploaded to Youtube.

Unlike, Choke, I planned this one better and recorded more than one take, so there aren't many mistakes.

Sorry about my tremolo picking, I'm not very good at it.

And the section from 0:40 - 1:25 is Improv. because there isn't any guitar in that part. It isn't "off-tune" as such, because there is no guitar tune in that part, I just thought it'd be better to improvise there rathert han just stand there for 45 seconds.

What kind of pedal are you using to fade the sound away?

I normally just use my whammy pedal to take it down so many octaves that you cant even hear the sound, or turn the volume knob on the guitar...But with those knobs anything can happen! (in a bad way)

I'm just using the expression pedal on my Digitech.

On settings, such as Distortion, which don't use the expression pedal, it just mutes the sound when you rock it instead of changing the sound.

I have to admit, I have no idea how to improvise. Well, I didn't then, if I re-did this now I would be able to improv that bit in key. It does sound terrible and at some point I probably will re-do it, I have a new amp and have got a bit better since then so most of my covers should be re-recorded.
