Granville t.Woods(black man) invented the multiplex telegraph,it detected oncomin trains (still used to today)because head on train collisions deaths were very common in late 1800s.

Thomas Edison tried to sue him claiming he

stole the patent,but later lost the case to woods then a black millionare in 1800s.

Edison later tried to hire woods.Woods said,

"Hell no,just so you could steal my inventions".
