Amazing that Concertgebouw sounds the same in 1940 as in the '20s. String playing deteriorated in most orchestras except Mengelberg's and Stokowski/Philadelphia.

Where did these Wagner pieces come from? Thought I had a fairly complete collection of Mengelberg. Perfect, as usual. Only flaw in Concertgebouw is the oboe sound.
