Dear Luscious, Yes I know I stayed at the Marriot and walked to the Aquarium and to /riverwalk during my last trip and went to my favorite old used bookstore. Yes I miss the city and my friends and my old house. But like they say if you stay put to long you stop growing. I find my new city very interesting and my dog loves the snow it's as close to London without leaving the United States. Take Care Luscious and have a hurricane for me this weekend. Happy New Year From Happymike and Rex.
I miss the city and the food but it is far to dangerous to call it home anymore. This video makes me homesick for Louisiana. This is a great video and I went back in April and spent three days in meetings but one of those days was able to get away and walk down Burbon and see a few friends of mine. The city is like that you can walk down the streets and see your friends. But since Katrina it is dangerous if you stay out after dark. Take a cab to burbon and back to the hotel. Safety first!
@happymike44 there is more to Nola than Bourbon. I tend to hang out on Magazine and Decatur, its safe there...at least nothing bad has ever happened to me. I suppose it depends on your attitude.

Oddly enough... after 31 years in NYC, I really want to return home... but, only a native like yourself might truly understand the "Love/Hate" thing.
