I hate hip hop...response

tons of people who dislike/hate give no real valid reasons and grossly overgeneralize what hip hop,rap,and most importantly really is.

@freein2339 no mainstream music takes talent anymore u dumbass, have u ever heard of autotune. Good rappers talk about real problems/things happening in the world, they use the beat to get their point across to the listeners effectively. Don't base rap off of ymcmb bullshit just like u dont base country on taylor swift, or rock on stereos. Biggie and Tupac were and always will be way better then any mainstream music of any genre

As i grew older i was able to see how hip hop embraces ignorance. To the point where you can have a honor student in a black school be harassed, robbed, beaten , even killed because he has goals and ambitions. Hip Hop encourages the worst behaviors in African american culture it has destroyed the black race. Many blacks in jail live and breath hip hop. If you our in a disorganized environment with few positive influence hip hop is poison. THAT IS WHY I HATE HIP HOP. I'm black.

I was raised on hip hop. Grew up listening to KRS 1 and P.E. etc. What i've come to realize is that rap is responsible for many of the ills of african american culture. Many whites listen to it, but don't relate, but African american emulate the lifestyles and images they see on tv and on records. It's 2012 and blacks are still lagging behind. Not segregation or discrimination keeping us back. It's the message and culture perpetuated in hip hop. Even suburban black kids want to be killers. WTF?

there is good hip hop and bad hip hop bad hip the hip hop on the radio is mostly bad but there is good stuff on the radio and you're right the mainstream hip hop sucks

mos def & immortal technique for example are good hip hop artists because there is meaning in their songs and you are correct most rock listeners don't listen to mainstream rock because it is the same idea they just sing what sells in rock girls & anger in hip hop Sex & money but in the underground non pop artist there is meaning
