We can all have unlimited uploads now, even on new accounts with no videos.

No copyright or community guidelines strikes.

YouTube recently announced that in some cases people can resolve their copyright strikes by going through their copyright school.
http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2011/04/youtube-copyright-education-remixe...

Click here to go through YouTube's online copyright school. It only takes about 5 minutes. Even if you don't have a copyright strike you will find the information there very useful.

Another thing to watch out for is any Content ID match. In case you wanted to learn more about Content ID and how it is used you can learn more here from Margaret Stewart, YouTube Head of User Experience. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoX-YihV_ew

Find out if you have any Content ID matches here.

Unlike a copyright strike, you can get rid of a Content ID match by simply deleting the video. Use royalty free music instead.

Next avoid uploading videos that violate the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines. If you do get a strike on your account you can learn how to appeal it here.

The final step is to sign up for YouTube's 2-Step Verification. You can learn more about it here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMabEyrtPRg

You can verify your account at anytime by going to the Upload page or just by going to this link here http://www.youtube.com/my_videos_upload_verify

If you do not have a cell phone, here is a list of resources that YouTube has to give you some ideas on how to solve this issue. http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=171664

If you have any questions please leave them in the video description below.

For the record, YouTube's old blog post about unlimited uploads http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2010/12/up-up-and-away-long-videos-for-mor... is no longer relevant.

As such the video I made about the announcement
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPcqblbloe8
has been set to unlisted

For some YouTube history read the YouTube blog posted back in 2006 when they first announced a 10 minute upload limit
http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2006/03/your-15-minutes-of-fameummmmake-th...

Shortly thereafter they launched the Director program which eventually gave way to the Partner program
http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2006/04/introducing-youtube-director.html

Then in 2010 they increased it to 15 minutes for non-partners.

  • @GamerXZ95 This is an official quote from Youtube staff. Content ID claims such as matched third party content or blocked videos WILL prevent you from ever having unlimited upload length.. If the content owners have confirmed their claim on your videos you have two options: Legal action or to delete the video. As long as those videos remain you will be limited to 15 minutes.

  • @HappyCabbie I attempt to dispute the claims and some videos are still awaiting a response from content owners and the others have reviewed my videos and confirmed their claims, I don't want to delete my videos with that problem because I didn't had that problem earlier, but a week ago I saw that content ID claim problem and I couldn't upload videos with unlimited time anymore, maybe I should wait and to see what happens

  • @GamerXZ95 the 9 videos that are blocked and the 21 that are matched third party content will prevent you from having unlimited uploads.

Your options are to attempt to dispute the claims or to delete the videos.

  • @HappyCabbie ok, thanks for your info, I have already 2-step verification, now I need to wait maximum 6 months to be all right, I have 266 uploaded videos, which 9 videos are blocked in some countries (but the sounds are not disabled so my videos are still available worldwide) and 21 videos that are matched third party content

  • @GamerXZ95 if you successfully dispute everything and you have 2 step verification set up your unlimited abilities should return

  • I have a question, if I've disputed a copyright claims on my videos, this will fix this and I'll can uploading over 15 minutes again? I have the same problem too

Content ID Claims: Your account is not in good standing.

  • Thanks for the info!
