EV Electric Van takes off - Elektrischer VW Bus Umbau.

This is my self made electric conversion. The car has 144V in lead acid batteries and a 32kW DC electric motor. It accelerated to 60km/h on this little 80m street without flooring the pedal - all in third gear.

Dies ist die Jungfernfahrt für meinen selbst umgebauten elektrischen VW Bus. Hier werkelt ein 32kW Gleichstrommotor mit 144 Volt aus Blei-Säure-Batterien. Auf 80 Meter hat er bis 60 km/h beschleunigt, ohne voll"gas", alles im dritten Gang.

OK, I have been driving the car for a few days (to and from the shop and TÜV), and so far it is really neat to drive! Power is very similar to the original. I managed to go 100 km/h, which is pretty much exactly what the original did. The TÜV tester was quite positive, but there is still a huge amount of work to do... .

Wie schnell und weit kannt das bus fahren?

@ChristopherJManess Ich hab das Pedal noch nicht durchgedrückt. Sobald die Elektrik besser verlegt ist, werde ich mir ein Tagesnummernschild holen und das ausprobieren. Auf 80m Strecke bin ich Problemlos 60km/h gefahren. Rechnerisch sollte er 40 bis 60 km schaffen, aber Bleibatterien sind da schnell zickig.

@ChristopherJManess Rein gefühlsmässig - also ohne mir jetzt Angebote eingeholt zu haben - tippe ich auf mindestens 6000 Euro. Sollte ich den Bus über den TÜV bringen, dann werde ich als nächstes einen Käfer mit Lith-Ion umbauen. Dann kann ich es genau sagen.

Nice!!! I have three splitties and a Datsun EV conversion. The engines in the VW's are running great, but when they wear out, I'd like a VW bus EV conversion too.
