You probably played the PAL version. The NTSC version looks like this video. The PAL version was edited to make the kids look less like kids and more like a teddy bear, or something. lol

Storks are known for bringing life, so by using storks as a darkness the comparison between innocence and madness and how easy corruption can be is fantastic here. (Sorry for so many posts I just love chatting about these things.)
