Listen to how strong his voice comes out of the gate! Powerful. They don't make them like that anymore. God, I miss real music...

You are so correct teamcoupe. He has a set of pipes like no other. It sends a chill up my spine when I listen to this song. I have always liked it, but a good friend of mine passed away last year, and she had it played at her funeral. It was so powerful! I will never forget it. I have come here often to watch and hear the ease at which Mr Conlee sings this great song.
I came here today after watching the funeral/tribute to George Jones this morning... I'm so glad I did.

My mother played this album a thousand times at least. When I started this video and he belts out that first line I almost dropped. Wow !!! What a talent.

John Conlee is a rarity....his voice carries more than just the lyrics. I can't think of a single singer nowadays that can put that much emotion into his words.
