It has always been there, just go to File -> New -> Math

Nice work. Could use some sound though. I still prefer microsoft office 2008 because it has a lot more features especially with powerpoint. There is a fork of this program called neooffice witch is made especially for mac and it has better compatibility with all kinds of mac and runs much smoother.

Also the new OOo 3.0 has 3d OpenGL transitions similar to Keynote.
