Unusual for the times he stood out among the groups of the time.

I remember back in the year 2000,a friend & I went to a record-music store. We asked an employee about an '80's era song that goes like this...and she said,"Oh,that's Thomas Dolby."My friend & I both said at the same time,"Thomas Dolby?"

@metroperson Same here. In Dallas, early 80's. That show played some of the best new music.

first heard this in very late 81.....on a late night radio show in Dallas...they would play the newest music coming out in England and Europe at the time....

@syncro16se I completely agree. I couldn't have said it better myself. Cheers.

I remember seeing TD on a Midnight Special type program on regular TV back when this album was out--live concert of all his cool music--flawless performance. I will always dig this.

@juliano66 There was a live show recorded for TV called 'Live Wireless', from the Golden Age of Wireless era. Fortunately, if you buy the newly remastered CD of The Golden Age of Wireless not only do you get the original remastered album (with 'Wreck of the Fairchild'), a load of extras including b-sides & tracks from the US release (Blinded Me with Science and One of Our Submarines) you also get a DVD of 'Live Wireless' with remastered soundtrack! How's that for a slice of fried gold!
