I started recording some of the Punk bands passing through Bristol on my Mobile Phone (which has an awesome camera). I pieced the tracks together to a track by "Apologies I Have None" called "Bent Strings".
Its worth noting that these are only a handful of the bands that play in Bristol and the Cut Ups and Virgins, who you only see here in passing, are also extremely good and two of our favourite bands (hence the footage of them staying at a friends old flat)
The Zatopek's deserve an honourable mention because they provided most of the more outrageous footage. They are definitely a band you are going to want to see live as its only a matter of time before they get off the stage and start really interacting with the audience, I have footage of the lead singer pretty much screaming into my camera, awesome.
There are a hell of a lot of other bands who deserve to be on here but aren't purely because I don't have the footage, sometimes because I'm too wrapped up in whats going on to get out my camera.
One Last Thing:
Currently there only a handful of Punk Venues in Bristol. It is a genre of music largely over looked. Normally there's about 20 people or so at any gig so quite frankly these guys are not doing it for the money.
One person I know, who is a small scale promoter, had to pay £60 out of his own pocket to cover a gig and two of my other friends are about to reach into their pockets and knowingly pull out another £40 each to bring in their favourite band, and they're just fans.
The Punk community is small, tight, loyal and skint but happy.
You guys are awesome, we love you to bits, keep doing what you're doing and pay us a visit once in a while.
