@ryanxboxlive But to be fair when you listen, many British people say "Mirr-a"

@muttley299 Well I personally never understood why we never pronounced the 'h' in herbs, but I also never understood the British facination with adding 'u's in places where it isn't really heard. It just feels like the English language, as a whole, was created in such a way as to trip up anyone who is not familiar with it.

@TheSouthernhunni There is a dislike button and a comment box for a reason.

The thing that annoys me most is americans saying the word 'MIRROR'. They say 'MEYR or MIR or MEER' go on, listen in any movie....
(and please dont take offense idiots on internet, its a joke)

Eddie izzard isn't funny and never has been. How he has a fan base still amazes me.

'two languages in one head'
I'm Scottish and I speak 3 :)
@AnimewatcherfreakMal Seems to me that what Americans hear is: "Tea tea tea tea crumpets tea, my God it's the Queen! Your Majesty, are we Catholic or Protestant at the moment?"
Whereas what we hear is: Camera camera camera (hide the burgers, Faith! Get them to film the kids!) camera camera *hair flip, hair flip* Or thereabouts.

People think British English is more "pure" than American English. However, I guarantee that both British and American are both very different from the English of the colonizers. American English is more conservative in some ways, and British English is more conservative in other ways. Languages are living, and the only languages that stop evolving are dead languages.
