Not to mention there was absolutely no reason to comment "Not as good as Donnie Marple's." None.If you had posted the question asking if yours was as good, then it'd be different. He/she should go comment on Marples video. And I know you don't need me to 'speak' for you. It just sux to read that after enjoying your video ! Kind of a bring down and wholly unnecessary IMHO. Nice job btw !

  • excellent drumming ..

  • did you really take the click out or do you have two tracks going one with the click in and the track that we hear on this vid?

  • Good job man, I really enjoyed your other videos too.

  • I love you...lol

  • You can learn as many words as you can from the dictionary. Even the biggest most impressive words. To be able to put those words together in an intelligent conversation with other people on the TOPIC AT HAND, is a whole other thing. Somone who FORCES big words in a conversation to show everyone he knows them, comes off sounding like a jackass. It must be in line with the subject of discussion. ONLY THEN do people care to hear it. BUT, when talking to yourself, EVERYTHING you say sounds good.

  • I am ALL FOR being creative. HOWEVER....It is one thing to be creative, and quite another to create and then never distinguish between "could I" and "should I". For EX...COULD I learn to do Donuts in my new sports car?? Sure I could! SHOULD I do donuts in my new sports car in the open field behind my house?? WHY NOT?? It would be fun! SHOULD I do donuts with my kids in the car on the highway during rush hour?? PROBABLY NOT. Musicianship involves choices made for the music at hand. DISCIPLINE .

  • @funky2714 Drummers who embelish frequently in music with dexterity are what we call "creative." Yeah, Donnie does some stick twirling here and there, but that doesn't really impress me to be honest.

On a side note, I'd like to thank you for having a mature conversation on here. That's pretty hard to come by on YT. And you had some cool fills in you vid too.

  • I dont take it personal AT ALL. It just disconcerts me because it proves what I have been saying all along. Most young drummers believe the mark of a great drummer is based on stick twirling and fitting as many notes as you can into a piece of music. And that is great if you want to be an "entertainer playing drums", which Donnie is. IMO,he is THE BEST at that. I however, choose to be a musician playing drums. If you don't understand the difference, it would benefit you to find it out.

  • @Bolewsky Lol how would you even know? Maybe Donnie Marple makes a mean deep dish pizza. But why would you take that so personally? I mean the guy won the GC Championship drumoff. There aren't many guys that could top him, not on Youtube at least.
