Mark Lynskey of Lynskey Performance Designs talks about his start in the industry and the innovations he has been a part of, he also brings by a sweet belt driven Ti bike as well.
@welditup85 I'm not talking about the time it takes to make the swap as a downfall - I'm talking about frame design. It is required to use a frame that comes apart on the rear triangle. I know this design works but it is just not good. I'm not talking about Lynskey bikes as they make top notch frames. I'm referring to the overall design of belt drive.
Also, they should make a "heat bonded" belt drive that actually requires an $80 heater (about the size of one of those Park Tool Chain Washers)
Belt Drive is great but I don't want to take apart my frame to put one on. In that case, a chain is not all bad anyway. I'd rather replace a chain more often and have a slightly louder drivetrain over taking apart my frame. Years from now we will not have a chain or a belt. We will have a left and right side wire that is run through each of the chain stays. Each side will "connect" to the rear, internally geared hub to provide propulsion. Sounds crazy? Think not.

@MegaSoulSearcher if you had a bike stand and tools, give it 10 minutes for a full swap.

Yeah, your mic frequency at this convention was definitely on the same frequency of a nearby event.
