  • Great group of lectures.

    The solution that he didn't mention (for case #2) is the use of bypass capacitors. Open up any electronics and you will see a small capacitor placed between power and ground on each chip/device. When the device (a not gate in his example) switches and demands current it will come from the cap and not effect the supply rail.
