I can totally relate to u! My daughter is my inspiration for going natural too. I love her hair n her curls and I was like, I wonder would we have the same curl pattern. She's 16 months and her hair is 7 inches in the back n 8 in the top. I want her to stay natural so I figured that I should be a role model to her. As parents we have to lead by example!!

You're in love with your daughters texture not yours... That's what I got from this video.. Embracing your own texture is totally different...

I wanted to go natural at first just because I never seen my hair texture
(i got a relaxer when I was 4 or 5)
then i found something magical, youtube!
now I know all the benifits of going natural and how to take care of fully natural and transitioning hair. I love all the ladies on yt!

Nice video. You and ur dd have beautiful hair. be careful blowdrying and flat ironing a lot u could end up with heat damage. A lot of people end up having to transition a 2nd time. I bc'd but not because I didn't care about my hair. I was over relaxed hair and ready to embrace the real me. I take good care of my hair in 3 years from inch to almost bsl. mine looks like ur dd's hair.

It is so nice to hear your story. We have the same story. Our mother's relaxed and their business caused us to stretch, our daughters hair inspired us, and I like to be very patient with my hair. It is very nice to see your success! Congratulations! I hope to celebrate with you in the years to come.

I am transistioning again after 4 years. My 11 daughter transistioned two years ago (her choice) and she is my inspiration! When she was around 4 she constantly questioned why her hair was not like mine (relaxed) :(. Glad I came across this video. I just found out I am expecting so now I definately have double motivation! I will be 13 months post when I deliver.

I can't go natural because my hair gets too thick and kinks up and falls out but i'm making it with my every 3/4 month perms.

I am thinking of transitioning from relaxed to natural and glad to hear that you don't have to do the 'big chop'. I don't want to lose my length. However it seems that natural hair takes up so much time and money in maintanence and styling. I doubt if I have the patience or time to spend 4 hours on my hair. I've worn some braid out styles and I like those because there is less heat on my hair, but I'm still experimenting. Curly hair styles is more drying than wrapping relaxed hair.

I have decided to transition also from Relax to Natural, your video was a positive and inspiring video for me as well. Thanks for the words of encouagement :~)
My mom had relaxed hair for as long as I can remember. When she told me I had to get mine relaxed when I was 13, I went kicking and screaming, lol. Your daughter and I actually have the same texture and in my family, that's considered "bad hair." So, she made me relax it. Your daughter has gorgeous hair and by the time she's *cough* our age *cough* all this natural hair negativity will be a thing of the past.
