Buyangirr E yirdaki - super fine Ngaymil clan miny'tji

This yirdaki is amazing to look at with its intricate and mesmerizing rarrk (cross-hatching) patterning of Ngaymil miny'tji. Buyangirr Garnambarr, Larry Winiwini's mukul rumaru (mother-in-law), made and painted this instrument, the most beautiful yirdaki painted by her that we have seen.

And it plays a treat too, in E fundamental and F# overtone, with outstanding back pressure, great acoustic traction and elasticity, and easy overtone note. The bore is beaut with all sorts of convolutions going on inside, giving the yirdaki a gravelly textured voice.
