This car is leaning over on its sides going just 10 mph!

The 350hp "Thunderbird special " Was avaialble but was very, very, rare. Standard engine would of been a Y block in 1960 i believe, The 390 was prolly the best overall performer.

Sorry I kinda missed what car where whe talking about here ????

@OsbornTramain That was with the 430 Liincoln engine ( J code I believe ). Not too many were made with it. Most had a 300 hp 352 and some had a 235 hp 2bbl 352. I think the figures were inflated. There really isn't much difference in the 300 hp 352 in '58/ '60 and the 250hp 352 in '64/'66.

what ever does the most work requires the most mantinance,, if you add indipendant rear like ford did on the explorer all you did was add complexcity to a simple RUGGED design.. me ill take that FE block anyday and the IRON CASE cruse o matic , and please tell me that the ford 31 spline or the 28 spline 9 " rear was more dependible than any gm peice at the time after all they dont run toyota rear ends in nascar today. fFord has enough sport coops . no money out there. ill nod to
bird

Be Still My Heart! That is one of the COOOOLEST cars I have EVER seen. Cousin to the Falcon and the Galaxie, this Better Idea will soar into the hearts of all.
I sure do love a classic Thunderbird!
The biggest problem with the retro bird was the engine was too weak to justify the cost of the car. If they would have put in a 5.4 liter 300hp engine in it then it would have been worth the price that they were selling it for.

the claim in this commercial that the horse power was 350hp? Was that inflated and inacurate?
