Instead of cutting a bigger hole you can also use a Dremel tool with a cutting disc and cut a ¼ inch slot on top and bottom of the existing hole just to fit the hasp locking (eye) blade.

Only made better to add small Red loc-tite to inside thread of hasp connector and small rubber seal . Can stays water tight. Ammunition stay dry.

What do you think about welding that hasp on ? I have a 20MM ammo can that I got 30 years ago when I was in the Army that already had a hasp welded on, I never gave it much thought until I saw this video. I don`t remember where I got it, but when I got that ammo can it already had the hasp welded on, this is where I keep my ammo.
