"GLORIA" Laura Branigan Cover by Stephanie Standerwick

This has always been one of my favourite songs. Maybe it's cause I relate to it, or maybe I just love songs with people's names in them. Either way, this song gets me every time.

To record it I used Photo Booth in my Macbook Pro, and I recorded my voice using a Shure Beta 57 through an Apogee ONE into Garage Band.

This was a lot of fun. I hope it brightens your day!

Stephanie is a singer and songwriter from Vancouver B.C. She also loves all dance forms and has successfully competed at the national level. At fifteen, her voice coaches saw talent and passion, and ushered her into the local music scene. Her vocals have been featured on songs played in Europe, and the U.S. Here in Vancouver, she won the Ceilis Battle Of The Bands, featuring her original music, and is working with industry producers such as Robbie Buchanan. We look forward to a soon to be released EP. How she also finds time to attend Simon Fraser University and get straight A's in Molecular Biology, is a little boggling. When performing, "Steph" has the ability to captivate an audience with her great stage presence and dynamic "from the heart" voice.

So pleased I had the pleasure to stumble across this marvellous piece of work.

I think many people with a beating heart can relate to this song. I believe it covers many issues that go un-addressed all too often, such as bullying, paranoia and problems with one's self esteem.

Well the powerful lyrics and the sublime melody go hand in hand to produce one hell of a record, and you have really done it justice.
