@jwmacaw ... she`s definitely hot ... whoever she is ... i bet Joe hit that shit after this gig .. that chic was swooning when he was playing
-
i still think that's angie dickerson sitting in front
-
..indeed. I see that now upon further viewing. 5/4.
-
its actually in 5/4. But its still a great solo, and Joe is a great drummer!
-
Well Mark, first of all... I wasn't talking about Take Five, I was talking about this solo which I'm pretty sure is in 5/8. And yes, 3/4 is odd meter, but you know what I meant. Both drummers are wicked, obviously.

Buddy Rich was my favorite drummer until I discovered Joe Morello. This guy grooves like nobody I've ever seen. This solo is in 5/8, and I have never seen Buddy play in anything but 4. When was the last time you saw a drummer take an entire solo in odd meter? This is just mind blowing!!!!! AMAZING!!!

i understand your enthusiasm but odd time is not the reason joe morello is so ridiculously good . It is because of his groove , control , and most of all his unbelievably musical phrasing .
There are plenty of odd time drum solos recorded and video taped as well ... odd time alone is no more special than 4/4 alone .. both can suck , both can be amazing . Joe obviously is amazing .
