Bloody brilliant set. Was front and centre for it, have good footage too but can't post it because my girlfriend and i were singin' terribly the whole way through. Got back stage and met the champion after this set and apologised. Such a nice fella.

Having said that, all of Something For Kate's stuff is great! They have this great beauty and serenity to their music, and they're so original and quite experimental, and I guess as they've gone on a few of the hits might be a TAD more "conventional" like Song For A Sleepwalker, but doesn't mean to say they're any worse. On another note, pretty good vid ^_^

WHAT?! He didn't play it when I saw him a couple of weeks back :( but he DID play Paintbrushes there, and OMG that was incredible! And to ducalicarpentry, yeah Something For Kate went commercial, but first of all commercial doesn't mean typical top 40 bullshit, and second of all it doesn't mean that they got worse. As a matter of fact Echolalia was a fucking amazing album! Oh well, I guess great is relative, but I do like the older stuff...Q And A With Dean Martin, and particularly Elsewhere...!

their older stuff is heaps better, the monsters album was the beginning of the end for them. check out 'somewhere else for 8 minutes', and 'beautiful sharks' for classic SFK. a great lyricist before commercial bullshit got in the way...
