I don't think telling someone the truth, when they need to hear it, is being an asshole in the sense that I am talking about.

Sure, I'd "be an asshole" in the sense that you mean if it were necessary. But consistently being a condescending ass when you talk to people is what I mean when I say asshole.

You and Aaron in in danger of falling into the confirmation bias trap. This is a real temptation that we all have observed with Stefbot already.

Putting up with assholes may be the price you have to pay to avoid such a fate. Just something to think about.

The context is Aaron banning me from his channel because of a disagreement we had regarding male-female relationships. Now of course he has every right to ban me and indeed a may have "merited" such treatment, but in my opinion there was more than a little shoot-the-messenger dynamic going on. Regardless if that was the case, you can imagine a scenario where it WOULD be the case.
