National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) presentation excerpt discussing educational applications of Second Life. Sponsored by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)
@nelliemuller -- absolutely, we are in the midst of wrenching the English language from the grip of staid, conformist, panties-in-a-twist, keep-it-safe tradition and placing the power to communicate in the hands of people who have something to say (besides "let's conform to how the grammar books dictate we have to speak")--that's what Web 2.0 and citizen journalism conspire to do. Sheesh. What one expects is not what one is likely to find if one is open to the growing dialog.
the guy in the video--Thank you Zsuzsa and Jeremy! Everybody who was there should comment...What did you think? Why did you think it? How are _you_ using Second Life to help your students learn?

I would expect an educator to use less slang. Are we in the midst of transforming the English language?
